What is a Hot Stone Massage?  There are over 50 smooth cobble stones that are heated to 90 degrees in water.  The first thing is a grounding stone is placed on your tail bone.  I also place vertebrae stones to warm up the spine and adjacent muscles and nerves.  I then start by massaging the legs with Jojoba oil, and then I massage with the very warm rocks. This warms and heals the muscles, stimulating the nerves, and works with lymphatic system to release the toxins expelled from the massage.  This creates deep relaxation for those tired muscles. When the rocks become slightly cooled, they are then placed next to the body.  The whole body is treated in this fashion.  There are finger, toe, face stones and stationary chakra stones.  I also work intuitively using Reiki to help renew the energy system of the body and for increased healing. 

Suggested time for this treatment is 75 to 100 minutes.

The therapeutic benefits of a Heated Stone Massage have been around for centuries. Ancient cultures and Native Americans used this technique to improve overall mental, spiritual, and physical wellness. Native Americans used heated stones to detoxify and to find harmony and balance. In some European cultures, heated stones or bricks were wrapped in cloth and placed over a person’s injury for relief. In China, heated stone therapy was used as early as 1500 BC as a method for relieving muscle aches and tension. The spiritual nature of being healed with the help of a piece of the earth offers another dimension. Healers are vessels for light and energy. Similarly, the stones are conduits with the same intention. The stones can be infused with the power of mantra, breath, prayer, love,good intention,colour, and compassion.

Reiki is an ancient form of natural healing that originated in Japan, it promotes relaxation, reduces stress and a sense of well being. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom and knowledge or the Higher Power" and Ki which is “universal life force energy”. So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many have reported miraculous results. Although Reiki evolved from Buddhist tradition it is not linked to any form of religion.

Reflexology is a therapeutic foot pressure treatment. The art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China. Reflexology is a holistic treatment that works on the feet and hands to balance the whole body. It includes both massage and pressure point techniques to have an effect on the energy pathways or reflex zones of the body. Reflexology calms the nervous system, circulation improves and all the cells are oxygenated; all the systems of the body function in a more efficient and cohesive way, cleansing the body through the lymphatic, excretory and integument (skin, nail, hair, sweat and sebaceous glands) systems of toxins. The immune system is strengthened and the body revitalized by opening up the energy pathways. The feet are a microcosm of the whole body laid out in the same arrangement. All body parts, glands and organs are reprinted in this order. Reflexology is a fascinating and highly beneficial therapy.
